Girls Supporting Girls!

Goals

We hope to inspire middle and high school girls to follow their passions despite what others tell them and provide them with strong female role models to enforce these ideas. 

Starting the Conversation

Oftentimes, girls are not taught to deal with and combat sexism until it has already affected them. We hope to start this important conversation and help girls at the age when the biggest potential impact can be made.

Role Models

The conference will have several speakers, each of whom is a successful woman. These women have all dealt with difficulties some based only on their gender, and they are excellent role models for young girls. 

Behind the Project

Darley Boit

My name is Darley Boit, and I am a high school junior from Massachusetts. I was inspired to organize Project Athena because I've seen so many of my friends be discouraged from pursuing their hopes and dreams because others have told them they can not achieve them simply because they're girls. I want to help girls avoid this trap and follow their hearts despite what some people might tell them. Women are so powerful, and no girl should ever doubt her capabilities.
